Proud Mama

I am so excited for Genevieve and her progress in learning to read. A whole new world is coming alive for her. YouTube Video

snow

You never know how long the snow will last in NoVA. Genevieve has learned this in her few years and insisted on playing in the snow as long as time permitted. We managed to go sledding, make snow angels, and chew on icicles (I made sure she selected the cleanest option available). Emory elected to stay inside where it was warmer and he could watch CARS. He almost has it memorized and I don't want him to loose momentum ;)

foggy night

It was a foggy night and getting darker by the second, but we ventured out with our magnifying glass to see what we might discover on our nature walk.

Big boy bed

YouTube Video It started when Emory climbed out of his bed multiple times a night... But when we introduced the big boy bed, then he climbed out AND turned on the light to play with toys and read books. After a few months, I'd like to believe that we've settled into a normal routine that doesn't require us to sleep with him ALL night long...but I might just be in denial.

Emory sings

Every night we sing "I Am A Child Of God" before bed.  And sometimes, Emory joins in and melts my heart. YouTube Video

Napoleon Dynamite's Got Nothin'

YouTube Video Genevieve adjusted her bed time routine. Now she likes to put on dance shows before bed, complete with costume changes (over her pajamas) and props, if we're lucky. It isn't quite what we need so close to bedtime, but it allows her to burn off some excess energy.
