washing your bath toys

In case you wanted to know how to wash your bath toys, using a car wash method, Genevieve put together this instructional presentation. Our neighbors were lucky enough to attend the live session. YouTube Video

photography opportunities

I recently had the opportunity to photograph my dear friend's father.  I appreciate Alexandra's willingness to let me come over and snap some photos. I know how much she loves and admires her dad and I was happy to capture a few moments for her.     A few days later I was able to take engagement photos for my dear friend, Jessie.  She and Mark have fun personalities and I enjoyed spending the afternoon with them.  I am very excited for Jessie to tie the knot and join the ranks for marriage.     I really enjoyed getting my camera out again and am thankful for these opportunities to develop my love for photography.

good morning

Thankful

Every day Eric comes home from work and bathes the kids, he does the dishes, picks up the house, folds the laundry, cares for Benjamin and asks me about my day. After Benjamin is down for the night I collapse on the bed and Eric strokes my hair until I fall asleep. Eric works hard at home and at work. He doesn't think he's giving 100% anywhere, but he is. The truth is, he is giving 150% in all he does and everyone around him, especially me, is lucky to reap the benefits. Thank you Eric.

Hidden Oak Nature Center

Guess what. I took the kids out of the house AND it was for fun, not just for errands. We've really been getting on each other's nerves lately. So obviously, my motivation for taking the kids out was an act of desperation rather than love. I can tell you with 100% certainty that it is easier to nurse a newborn at home, compared to nursing a newborn in a public bathroom, while helping your three year old wipe. Believe me. Really. I was quite a sight. However, since Jessica invited me to a peaceful nature sanctuary, I thought we could all benefit. Plus, meeting up with friends makes any outing more enjoyable. The kids had a blast searching for tadpoles, digging in the mulch and hopping from log to log. They explored, splashed and most importantly, played. It is such a joy to watch their imagination in full swing. With a bit of luck and lots of prep work, we will make it out a few more times before school starts.

lazy summer afternoon

08/07 Emory is such a stinker when it comes to taking photos. He rarely looks at me and always has that thumb in his mouth! At least Genevieve was willing to cooperate and flash a few smiles.

Curls

The curse of neither straight nor curly hair may plague Genevieve for the rest of her life. I for one, think her curls are gorgeous. Genevieve, on the other hand, wishes her hair was straight. I guess this is confirmation that she is a girl through and through - never satisfied with her hair.
