Four Takes of the Star Wars Puppet Show

These scenes are from Episode IV. Genevieve gets a little shy when he realized I am recording her, but otherwise a fantastic performance! YouTube Video YouTube Video YouTube Video YouTube Video

Blaster made from craft supplies - won't hurt a fly

Genevieve made a Star Wars blaster from a balloon, pipe cleaners and other craft items. Check it out. YouTube Video

Happy Halloween

As you can see, we went for a Star Wars theme this Halloween.  It was really fun to dress up as a family and even fun to make costumes (I may have found my inner-sewer).  Eric went as padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi (notice his braid),  Benjamin went as Yoda, Emory went as Darth Vader, and Genevieve went as Princess Leia.  I dressed up as a cowgirl for our trunk or treat, but then pulled together my own Star Wars-themed costume last minute.  If you can't guess, I am Shmi Skywalker - Anakin's mother from Episode I.  (A stretch?  Maybe.  There aren't many female characters and Leia was already taken...  Though, with our little Vader's personality, it seems very fitting.)  Eric helped the kids carve pumpkins, we got lots of candy, and we had a great time, despite the cold and rain.  Happy Halloween! Star Wars Nerds

We are raising Star Wars nerds. It happened by accident, I promise.  There was never a secret plan in our minds to indoctrinate the kids' minds (well maybe a little when it comes to the original three episodes vs the new three episodes, but that's Eric's prerogative) with Star Wars trivia, but alas, it happened all the same.  We really need to thank the local library for providing the kids with their first trip into the galaxy.  Then we need to thank the makers of the Lego Star Wars video game.  Finally, we need to thank the retailers that continue to sell all those wonderful 1970's toys, Eric is especially thankful.   After watching the "making of" video, we decided that we would finally let the kids watch Episode IV.  To say that they loved it would be an understatement.  We have also let them watch a few clips here and there.  Both kids love the At-At scene in Episode V and want their very own At-At someday.  Hon...
